Tomorrow, Tomorrow

is only a day away. . . . Am I excited? Oh, my goodness, not at all. I’ve only been going in circles, starting something here, thinking of something I must do there, going there to do it, remembering something somewhere else – eventually I get back to the first thing I started to do.

The packing is done. And redone. Except for those items that cannot go in the bag until after I’ve showered and dressed in the morning. Tomorrow. I packed so nicely. I thought. Then I thought again. And I thought maybe this shouldn’t be in the big bag, but should be in the carry-on. Or, maybe. . . have you done that? I have notes. All over the house. Duplicating what must be done. Remembering chargers for electronic gadgets must be on 4 notes in 4 different places. Obviously that’s a priority!

The Gracious One and her husband, because she is the Gracious One, had the neighborhood group over for dinner the other night, to wish us Bon Voyage. The food was delicious – it always is at these neighborhood dinners.

We had flowers as part of the centerpiece, with cruising icons on their holders – little ships as one of those icons.

There were candles

There was a porpoise swimming near the beach with palm trees. There was, of course, good company and joy, because when I am with my friends, those are a given. The good company and joy.

Today is a day of pampering – getting nails done, having a massage followed by a pedicure – because one must have shiny nails and a glowing body, you know. Or a least a relaxed body. Not sure mine has much glow left in it. Dinner will be a pizza – it has vegetables and protein.

One of my Christmas cactus has decided to bloom again. While I’m gone. One bud might open today, but probably not. I have a little primrose with a yellow bud in the flower bed outside my window, but I know if it blooms in my absence more will follow when I return. I hope. I found some daffodils with early buds yesterday – I hope they wait until I get home again. Usually it’s April before we have daffodils – this year they may come early. Today I have 3 female Goldfinch outside my window – perhaps the spring birds will be here in full force when I get back.

In the morning I will pack up refrigerated items that will not keep and take them to the Gracious One, along with my big furry girls. My little furry girls will stay home alone, but will have visits to assure their food dish does not go dry.

And the Artistic One and I will sail off into the – warm. And the sunset. After we drive to where we will board a plane that will fly us to where we can board the ship that will take us on that sail into the sunset and the warm.
I will have a glass of wine, which I raise in toast to all of you. Maybe more than one glass of wine. Maybe more than one toast.

May all of you have enough while I am gone. And when I return. I will post as I can. I will share photos as I can.

I’ve been out of the country and am so glad I came back in time to wish you a Bon Voyage! What a beautiful send-off your friends gave you. And now I will picture you, nails polished, all dressed up, soaking up sun and taking in the fresh sea air up on deck with a dear friend.
    Safe journey!

The bon voyage dinner was just too much. You shouldn’t be rewarded for being rewarded. Punishment would have been better. They should have had you clean their toilets. I find that’s the best way to express “thanks-for-going-off-to-have-fun-whilst-we-stay-home-and-feed-your-dogs”.
