Share Your World – June 18, 2018

I need to escape from the real world for awhile, and I can’t think of a better way to do it than to Share Cee’s world, which is a whole lot more fun.

You can have an unlimited supply of one thing for the rest of your life, what is it? Sushi? Scotch Tape? Define “one thing”, please. Could groceries be one thing? If so, I think I’d take that, because if I didn’t have to pay for groceries, I’d have some mad money with which I could do fun things. If that doesn’t work, then I think I’ll show my greed, and follow Embeecee’s answer by saying money. Thank you.

Teleportation or flying? If I can go first class, I think I’d take flying. Teleportation is tempting, but what if there’s a little hiccup in the process and I end up drifting in space for the rest of my life. That does not appeal to me.

Would you rather live where it only snows or the temperature never falls below 100 degrees? Nope. Nope. Not at all. I do not like hot, nor do I like icy snowy cold. If forced to choose, I’d take the 100 degree temperatures with no humidity please, an air conditioned house, and lots of shade around me. I think I could acclimate to that more readily than to all-the-time-snow.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination. I appreciated having my daughter home with me, and watching her cats race about in their part of the house made me smile. The cool rainy days we had made me smile too, because they provided a good excuse to stay inside and ignore the yard work that needs to be done. As I get older, I am less enchanted with yard work.

  1. Carol — I like your idea of having an unlimited supply of groceries, leaving one with a nice amount of mad money!

Yup. Heat but no humidity. Oooh, I forgot the shade part. Good idea, Carol. As long as the a/c is blasting, I will be fine. Just fine.

I could do your yard work if I lived closer. I seem to find it more and more my sanctuary. Of course, all your plants will die, but does that matter?

My front “yard” is barely more than dirt but I still pay others to do the “maintenance”. I can barely manage remembering to water. That’s why it was a big deal that I put in the planter box in the side yard (that’s been nothing but dirt for 16 yrs)… it means extra watering and trimming!

I just saw a super scientific thing about requirements of teleportation (and why it will never be possible) and, uhhh, yeah… I’ll stick with flying.

I thought of you when I saw the political news today. You did a share-your-world… I walked to a bar and drank!!

Boy, these are tough questions! Unlimited….for me it would be time…would that work? And 100 degrees or snow? WOW….maybe snow….maybe…I don’t know…maybe hot…no…maybe snow. Geesh either one if I have a house with heat/air! And teleporting please….so no more 2 days to drive somewhere. With the dog.

No hot weather for me either. In the original StarTrek series Doctor McCoy hated to be teleported because he feared that his atoms would be scattered in space. You’re in good company with your answer!

How long will your daughter be visiting? Such a special time with a loved one! You and I were both with our daughters at the same time, it seems. Keeping on smiling along with you…

Kat is here for the summer, at the end of which she will move to her teaching job in Arlington, Oregon – just five hours away from here. She says she is done with Asia, and probably with international teaching. I now have both of my kids in the same time zone, which I’m loving.

Snow for me, please! And the unlimited supply of groceries would be nice, too. 🙂
