June Photo Hunt

Somehow June has had its finale for this year; fortunately Karma gave a bit of a reprieve so I’m still legal in posting my submissions on this first day of July. The June challenge is to post pictures which represent the words Peace, Joy, Pride, Aplomb and two bonus words, Strewn and Toast. Here we go:

Peace:

For me, the view from my front deck is the epitome of peace. And if you add

a nice cold bottle of beer on a warm summer’s late afternoon, it becomes a bit more peaceful and restful.

Joy:

An old photo, but this one of my granddaughter swinging on the hammock has always said “joy” to me.

Pride:

This bluebird sits very proudly atop the birdhouse, and

Lily takes great pride in her appearance.

Aplomb:

Merriam-Webster gives serenity, tranquility and calmness as some of the synonyms for aplomb; this photo, taken last summer, says all of those to me.

And the first of the two bonus words, Strewn:

Unfortunately, my desk is a prime example of Strewn. I clean it off and it looks great. For a day or two. If I’m very good and very neat. I would say that somehow I attract clutter, but I think the truth is that I create clutter.

The second word is Toast:

Again, an older photo, but somehow I never quite managed to have my camera with me at a time when I could get a picture of what I had originally planned. Being organized seems to be a talent that is escaping me these days.

Good job! Wow, I liked every one of these photos. I’m actually intrigued by “strewn”…it shows an intimate glimpse into our sometimes messy lives. And joy is, well, JOY!

Carol, as usual, I am so glad you decided to play. My favorite part of these photo hunts is coming around to see all the unique takes on everyone’s interpretations of the words. I can certainly relate to your shot for “peace” – my deck is my happy place as well. That bluebird is perfect and adorable and I didn’t realize that serenity and tranquility were synonyms for “aplomb” so I’ve learned something today too! Thanks for playing along!

Great choices, as always! How can a smiling grandchild not say “Joy?” She looks very joyful. I have a few places that become “Strewn,” but I am overly neat, and have learned to compromise a bit to let things go. You may have had other ideas, but I love the double entendre in your photo for “Toast.”

Love the Joy shot! Perfect. Trade the beer for wine and you have a deal. And organization is over-rated.

Carol, every photo you have chosen for Karma’s photo hunt speaks volumes! Great choices on all counts. I’ve often thought I should join her challenge, but never seem to be organised enough! Your bluebird is so different to my feathered visitors, and Lily, well she’s just a beauty! ๐Ÿ™‚
