Answering Five Brilliant Questions and Other Things

This morning Ally Bean asked some questions and today feels like a good day to answer those questions before I head out to work in the yard because it’s spring out there and the birds are twittering and singing songs of happiness. But first, the question of who gets this lap must be answered. Will it be this cat

Or the laptop? (how does one adjust the size of photos in this editor anyway?)

Q1 – What’s your favorite movie? Maybe Patch Adams with Robin Williams? I’ve seen a lot I loved, but none lately because Covid, cost, distance to a theater, and I find I’d rather stream a documentary, something HGTV, or a BritBox show.

Q2 – When trying to buy shoes, what’s your biggest problem? Finding a pair that is comfortable on both feet. I have a bunion issue on my left foot, which complicates matters greatly.

Q3 – Ice cream cone or cupcake? Ice cream cone for sure, preferably chocolate with a waffle cone.

Q4 – What’s one good thing you have learned about yourself during this pandemic? Truly not much has changed for me, other than wearing a mask when I go shopping. Oh, but then there is this wee bit of angst about the inability to go out for lunch with friends or maybe take a train trip to visit a friend. So maybe I am a little more social than I would have said I am.

Q5 – Any eccentric people in your family? Discuss. Ha! Of course! Doesn’t every family have someone who is eccentric? Like maybe me? Beyond that, I prefer not to discuss.

I gotta say, this day this block editor is making me much crazier than it did when I last used it. I feel like the software is winning at deciding how things are going to be done on this blog.

Then I have this ongoing quest for how to try to sell some of my weavings – I’ll probably end up on Etsy, which is already overloaded with handwoven items, but it’s also the best-known and easiest way to go. In the meantime, a look at another shawl I’ve done, which is available if anyone is interested:

Off now to see if I can learn more about using this editor. Please.

Thanks for linking to my post and for answering the questions. It’s been fun to see what readers have to say in response.

I’ve never seen Patch Adams and I’m sure I’d like it. When it comes to buying shoes everyone has some problem or another. Sorry to read about yours. Ice cream is winning this question by a landslide [probably made of chocolate ice cream]. I, too, have learned that I’m more social than I would have thought before the pandemic.

I wish I could tell you how to size your photos in block editor but beats me. If it’s any consolation I had a helluva time getting my post edited this morning. Block editor sucks.

    Happy Weekend.

Great minds think alike. I, too, was going to do a post on the brilliant questions. And when I went to my blog site I saw, as did you, that it was all BLOCK and that classic was nowhere to be found. I agree, it’s much less user friendly now than it was before when I didn’t like it. So I tried to write a little post about change, and I couldn’t put a link in. Couldn’t get a photo in. Almost got a photo in, but as you said, it was HUGE, and then it disappeared anyway. And worst off, I guess is that I couldn’t find a PUBLISH Button. What the heck is wrong with them that everything you need to post is now hidden behind stupid little icons? Or missing altogether.

Anyway, I agree with ice cream over cupcakes. And I love your weaving. I think I will be asking you to make kitchen towels again, for my sister….for her lake house…in a few months maybe when she’s figured out colors for sure. Her kitchen appears to be headed toward mexican colors…blue and rust and lime green….but not entirely sure yet. If you have anything that would go with that that’s already done I’d buy it off of you rather than make you go get more yarn. Could even be any bright colors to be honest. She painted her ceiling light blue and her cabinets dark blue and her tile is mexican red tiles, and she’s painting trim in the greenish color. So color is the name of the game! She says she never got to do anything she wanted in a house before, so she’s having fun.

Anyway…I guess I should go figure out WordPress too. But I resent having to do that!

    The shawl is GORGEOUS!!!

I find the app is now easier than desktop. It’s limited but more predictable. The 2 things that bug me are text alignment on image captions, and not having the underline tool (apparently considered passé by html5).

I have a strong dislike for the new WordPress editor too. It’s cumbersome and very non-intuitive. I love the wrap and hope you find a good place to showcase your talent. I have a lot of favorite movies but have been trying to find something decent on DirectTV and Starz to watch while all my regular shows remain hit and miss for new episodes. Who knew there were no many really, really, bad movies made? Shoes….use to love them. Now, the heel height dictates what I can comfortably wear. Chocolate ice cream in anything! The pandemic taught me to the thankful for what I have and not take anything for granted. xoxox
