Share Your World – 8/13/2020

Once again, it’s been awhile since I blogged, so today I’ve decided to try to answer Melanie’s questions. Try. No guarantees here.

What song always gets you out on the dance floor? There are some songs that might get my feet tapping or my body jiggling, but out on the dance floor? Not likely. A sense of rhythm was not a gift I was given and although I have danced some times during my much younger life, I always felt like a klutz.

What’s your favorite sleeping position? On my side – which side doesn’t matter. Used to be a belly sleeper, which became a challenge when I was pregnant. Not quite sure when that changed, but now it’s my side, with short periods on my back. Sleeping is something I’ve become quite expert at doing these days.

If you could snap your fingers and instantly make the world better, what would you do? Well, first off, I would shake our government systems up and start fresh. I would make sure those that serve in the government would be there because they genuinely wanted to make the country better, rather than grow their own power and wealth. I would drastically change our party system, although exactly how I cannot say. That “do good, forget power and wealth” thing. This would clear up the partisanship and we could all become more loving, more compassionate, more tolerant, less reactionary. I have very powerful fingers to snap, you see.

What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever done, and why did you do it? Tossup. It was either heading down that big sand dune on my three wheeler the very first time or getting to within four feet of the edge at Grand Canyon. I don’t do edges well at all so both of those were major feats for me.

Gratitude – that my cataract surgery is done and my eyesight is so much better. The world has regained focus and color. The less pleasant side of that is that the person in my mirror has also gained focus, and she really did look better in soft focus.

I am grateful for a week with my son, spent in solitude at a resort near a river so he could fish:

My time is divided between a wee bit of yard work, a wee-er bit of housework, reading, and weaving. My latest warp looks like this:

The plan is for this to become a ruana for me.

How’s your world going? Do you have enough?

I have enough food and more than enough time. But not nearly enough money, nor prospects to earn money.

I’m glad your surgery went well and your solitude week looks like a wonderful time. Please show us the ruana when you are finished! Dance floor music tends to fall into the 60s and 70s tunes, but it’s been a while as Entrepreneur doesn’t really like to dance anymore. Snapping my fingers would eliminate wars and the need to exert power and control at the expense of another’s freedom. Yes, we would have very powerful fingers! Hope your enjoying all the sharper colors and shapes with your new eyes! xoxox
