I just opened Melanie’s post, read as far as the questions which she apparently got from Rory (no link,sorry) and was enticed to jump on the bandwagon.

| What gets too much attention in the news? Easy choice on this one – Trump and his stupidity exposing tweets. Or rallies. Anything Trump, because what he says cannot be believed and will probably change in an hour anyway. |
| If you could change 3 things about your country, what would you change? The government, first of all. We need a government concerned with doing right by the country and it’s people, not with pleasing big donors so they can be re-elected. In that vein, the 2nd thing would be term limits for all of Congress. And a bi-partisan committee to select Supreme Court judges. Lastly, I would change the atmosphere that creates the hate and racism we see running so rampantly in this country. |
| What fact amazes you every time you think of it? When I see some of the structures from centuries ago that were built with such intricate detail, but without all the modern conveniences to aid in that building. It amazes me that man had the strength, foresight, and perseverance to accomplish such marvels. |

Carol — As a person who appreciates architecture, I resonate with your comment about older buildings (and the stone walls criss-crossing the Highlands of Scotland).

I’m all for term limits for congress. Many of them have become too comfortable gorging themselves at the taxpayers trough. And, I also marvel at those structures from long ago. I’m particularly fascinated by the Mayan/Toltec Empire and how they built such amazing structures all over central America. Having seen some of the Mayan ruins, I always come away floored by their skill.
