Spring Break – Finale

Our last adventure for this trip was the drive to Lincoln City for a beach fix, and to go to one of the series of Illusionist acts at the Lincoln City Cultural Center. The beach was first, of course, and we closed out the day enjoying the program put on by a French mime. She was very good, and we enjoyed it, but I have no photos. Out of respect for the performer, of course – definitely not because I just forgot.

After we had stopped at the Tillamook Cheese Factory – I showed you the photos from there in my last post, except this most important one which I missed:

we stopped at the Bay City Oyster Company – or Pacific Oyster Company, perhaps it was – for lunch. You saw the lunch – deconstructed because I was hungry – in my last post. This was the view.

We stopped at Cape Meares to see the lighthouse, which was not accessible but Kat and I celebrated the view, which we enjoyed.  We saw the spouts of several whales, no bodies, just spouts. Someday I hope to see a whale breach.

I fell in love with a tree on the walk back up the hill (truly it was an excuse to stop and rest for a moment)

And then on to this wonderful beach, where I met a dog named Oliver, who barked at me so I would come pet him. His mom said he’d been undergoing chemotherapy, and was doing well. Once again, my little elf that is to remind me to take photos did not do his job, but I do have the beach.

Patterns in the sand:

The day ended with dinner (the fish tacos you saw last post), the mime, and the drive home. It was a great day.

it was a really good visit – which I think we all enjoyed. And it ended, as they do, very quickly.

LOVE the pics!! I also want to see a whale breach. And an orca. But, based on experience, neither will ever happen while I’m looking.

Awwww, you and Kat are so adorable together. I never tire of seeing photos of the ocean….or seeing it in person. Your shots from Cape Mears are especially lovely. Glad you had a wonderful visit with your kiddos. xoxo
