We are living in a society, a culture, rent by anger, screaming in its anguish, weeping in its sense of being invisible. See me, hug me, hear me, tell me I matter. Show me you care, that you are here for me.
My take on this time in which we live.

Yep. It’s all about the benjamins and getting the eyeballs focused on you, baby. Of course for any of us who are reserved and lean toward moral, it’s a difficult time indeed. No answers here, just sending *hugs* your way.

You interpretation of my words is interesting, and although not my intent, could be very accurate.
My thoughts were more along the lines of the desperation of the people to have the government work FOR them, to recognize their needs, to do something about the inequalities. Not just the government, actually, but for each faction of our population to recognize that each of us has value.

In our world today, there is enough for everyone, so the question is why are some left out and some don’t care?

That’s why there are blogs.
Hugs.

Yes, so when we view our screwed up society, we can cry for it on a public shoulder.
Thank you.

Have been thinking about this since New Zealand. There must be things that we can do as individuals to start little by little helping. Not that we can help or change people like that shooter…but there are thousands if not millions of people that are on the fence and just need a little nudge to fall onto the side of tolerance and then acceptance.

I don’t know what to do. Practice tolerance and love I guess. Hope for, vote for, new blood in the government. An awakening? People need to know that their problems are heard by their governments and that they will be dealt with.

We are definitely living in fearful times. But, the fear is different depending on what we’re afraid of. Some are afraid of government becoming too powerful and inserting itself into all aspects of life and taking over freedoms. Others are fearful of not making it on their own and want government to step in and provide assistance for everything. The “me” mindset is concerning on many levels as it tends to negate compassion and sacrifice that is needed to truly help others, while at the same time having the expectation to be the center of the universe and expect others to sacrifice for their needs. Blame shifting and finger pointing is rampant in both government as well as younger generations. And social media is a haven for those who think it’s okay to type before they think. It’s just a mess with no real solution in sight. 😦

It is truly a mess. I believe a good deal of the anger present these days is due to our government forgetting it is supposed to govern for the people, for what’s best for the people and the country instead of to line their pockets and increase corporate wealth.
