Before I take a break, I thought I would share a little bit – my plan had been to share my world with Cee, but I’ve had things that required my attention this past week. And since I can only do one project a day, you know, there just hasn’t been time.
People have been hitting happy numbers with their blogs – number of posts, number of followers – that kind of numbers. I have a lot more followers than I have people that actually read my posts, but that’s okay too. I blog mostly because I like to – which in no way means I don’t love whenever you visit or like or comment. That’s kind of like the candy-coating of the whole process. This is my 816th post – on WordPress. My first post on WordPress was on January 2, 2012.
I started blogging on Blogpost (I think that’s what it was) back in 2009 because husband and I were taking a trip west and it was a good way to keep family and friends posted on our journey and accompanying activities. When we got home, I didn’t post for awhile, until my daughter chided me and encouraged me to continue. I did that. Eventually, husband decided I should have my own website, and I did that for awhile using WordPress software, until it seemed a silly extra expense to me, and that’s when I moved to the WordPress site.
Which leads to the main reason for this post – I will be taking a break for at least a week because tomorrow morning we start the process of moving Kat to the northern end of Oregon, where she will be teaching this school year. Kat and I head out tomorrow in her car with her four cats, a coffee pot, coffee, twin mattresses in boxes, sheets, blankets, pillows – those things one must have for survival. Because we have no desire to be rugged pioneers. No sirree! Comfort matters a lot to my old boness. Considering the size of her wee car, it’s going to be packed tight. As is my car, and a trailer we’re borrowing from a friend. Those will come up with Gep driving them on Monday. We will spend the week helping Kat get settled, enjoying time together, and relaxing as much as we are able between getting furniture put in place – she’s been shopping at Wayfair – getting groceries in the house, and other settling kind of things. We will be without internet, which she will not get until August 13, because wildfires up that way have created delays in installations. I suspect the internet provider has one installer that has a territory of many square miles.
So until I return, here’s what’s blooming in my yard right now:
