Share Your World – First week of April

I am singing a familiar refrain – wherever has this week gone? How did it already get to be Thursday? I certainly haven’t been doing anything to make the time pass that quickly, but it has, and now I’m ready to share with Cee.

What was or is your favorite cartoon? When I was much younger, my favorite cartoon was Wily Coyote and the Roadrunner. When I had kids, that became one of the many cartoons they weren’t allowed to watch because there was too much hitting and squishing with big rocks happening. Ironic, isn’t it?

Which cooking utensil (other than the usual pots and pans etc) would you miss the most? I’ve been thinking about this one since I first read the questions this past Monday. I think I would have to say my bamboo cutting boards and stirring utensils. I have several utensils that I use quite often – the mandolin slicer, the immersion blender, for instance – but I could work around them. Oh yes, and my big chef’s knife by Cutco – it’s the first knife I’ve had in my entire life that is really sharp and does a good job.

Would you dare to sleep in haunted house overnight? What I dare say is that if I was in what I knew was purportedly a haunted house, I doubt very much I’d be doing any sleeping. I think that makes the answer no.

What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination. I appreciated all those things I always appreciate – my furry girl, my loved ones, the birdsong, watching the furred and feathered critters outside my window. I appreciated an online tutorial for painting a Foggy Forest with a spooky tree. So I’ll share my version of that with you – the first image is where I got to and had to spend some time away from it to decide what was missing and which direction I wanted to go.

After a couple more additions, I think it’s done.

Interesting you mention your Cutco knife. We’ve had a set of these kind, and still use them. Some have gotten lost over the years, but you’re right, they are great knives.

As a child I loved Lariat Sam and Twinkle Toes. It was rooting, tooting fun. Wily Coyote didn’t come into my life until later. I like how you put the finishing touches on your painting. Very atmospheric.
