Share Your World – May 29, 2017

Quickly now, before it is already next Monday, I must play with Cee. I’m not entirely certain where this week has gone, although I think at least part of it was eaten up by my cold, which seems to be on its way out now. Thankfully.

What is the most famous landmark or building you have ever seen? I have seen the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Monument, the White House, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Gettysburg, and more – which is the most famous? Dunno, but they were all very interesting. I’m sure I’ve forgotten some of the landmarks I’ve seen.

Do you like long vacation or lots of mini-vacations? I guess that depends on what “long” is – is it a week, two weeks, a month? And it would depend on where I was going – I have this forever dream of taking tours of the British Isles and of western Europe – both of which would require time for adequate exploration. I would like to do a Mediterranean Cruise, which would require some time. Then again, I would like to go visit other places for just a few days – those would be more local, the places that could be driven to from home. If I’m going to endure mass transit (like planes or trains), I want to spend enough time to make it worthwhile.

What is your favorite National or State Park? I have seen several, and doubt I could pick a favorite. There is so much majesty in so many of them, so much beauty, so much to see.

What is your fantasy vacation? Oh gosh. I alluded to this in the second question – I think it would be touring the British Isles at my leisure, with a knowledgeable, flexible guide, followed by touring Western Europe the same way. Staying some places until my soul was satisfied, moving on to the next, no rush, no hurry, no fixed schedules.

Optional Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? I am grateful for my son’s visit this past weekend – even though it was short, it was nice to have time with him. I am looking forward to my cold being completely gone so I have the energy and interest to do the things that must be done and that I want to do.

What’s blooming in my yard now:

Beautiful flowers. They are the epitome of June happiness. If you find a knowledgeable guide for your tour of the British Isles, can I join you on your vacay? Sounds delightful to me.

I love to travel…have seen a few famous places….couldn’t for the life of me pick the most famous. And my favorite park? WOW…I LOVED the national parks in California with huge trees, redwoods, and others. I didn’t want to leave there. But I didn’t want to leave the Grand Canyon either. Or places along each ocean, or Bryce Canyon. Or. or. or. or.

Dream vacation? To spend months and months in Italy, living as an Italian would in some small walled village. Please.

Your yard is “bloomin’ beautiful” now. Good to finally say goodbye to those chilly spring months. My dream vacate would probably be to Italy…although with what’s going on in Europe now, I don’t think that is in my near future. So, I’ll be content with those once a year Caribbean getaways. But, I do think it would be fun to visit all the landmarks and parks here in our own country. Decisions, decisions…….can I take my dog? šŸ™‚

Wow… how big is your yard? The grass pic makes me feel that it’s pretty large (I’m on a 3/8ths lot, I think 1200 sq ft, so just about anything is large to me)

I have five acres, about half of which Is cleared and grassy, although since husband died and I now have to mow, I’ve cut it back to about an acre of watered and tended lawn I think. Very different from most of LA and Orange counties.

Wow. I can’t even maintain my little strips of dirt. I actually enjoyed the drought-related water restrictions because it made my front “yard” (dirt) seem responsible rather than what it is… lazy and lack of interest.
