Share Your World – 2015 Week 52

Week 52?! Already?! I think life has gotten stuck on fast-forward and I don’t know how to change that. “Stop the world, I want to get off” – well, not exactly “stop” and “off”, but could it slow down a little? Please. While I wait for the slow-down, it’s time to play with Cee again and share.

1. Tell how you are feeling today in the form of a weather report. (For example, partly cloudy, sunny with a chance for showers, etc.) Mostly sunny with scattered light clouds. The scattered light clouds are only because it’s just the end of December, but I’m already weary of the cold and snow. We drove to town yesterday on shiny roads – more about that another post – and I have a strong dislike for shiny roads.

2. What is most memorable about your high school years? One memorable thing is Algebra – I hated it, it made no sense to me, my thought process simply does not work that way at all. Another was the French class I tried to take – “tried” because after 3 classes I dropped it – the instructor handed us a French newspaper on day one – no explanation, had no idea what we were to do with it. There was no teaching, so I decided it was really a waste of time. Then there was the frequent being “the new kid on the block” after we’d moved again, the needing to make new friends and find a place to fit in. High school is not a time I’d care to return to.

3. Have you ever owned a rock, pet rock, or gem that is not jewerly? Yes, I have and I do. I tend to pick up rocks when I go new places so I have a bowl filled with some of the small ones I like best and I have larger rocks I’ve brought home in flower beds. I also have some crystals and gemstones that I’ve bought sitting here and there.

Complete this sentence: I like watching… I like watching (Chris, I’m going to mimic you here) the birds and the squirrels outside my window. I like watching moving water, especially on a beach where waves tumble in. I like watching people when I’m in a public place. I like watching the light change as the day begins and ends, snowflakes falling from the sky (if only they would not stay on the ground!), clouds drifting overhead, leaves swaying in the breezes, pets playing, toddlers toddling – I like watching so many things.

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? I am grateful for friends and family at the Christmas dinner table. I am grateful for life, for having Kat with me for awhile. I am looking forward to a new year with new experiences and old friends and family in my life.

To all of you from my world, cheers!
