One Four Challenge, Girl on the Beach Week 2

This is the second week for Robyn’s Fine Art One Four challenge. Once again, my original photo is:
P1030411

and my second entry is
Watercolor2

In Photoshop Elements, I duplicated the image, opened the dry brush filter and played with the settings until I got a look I was happy with. I then duplicated the Dry Brush layer, opened the smart blur filter and again played with the settings. This created a black image with white lines. I then inverted this layer to make it black lines on white and set the blending mode at soft light and adjusted the saturation a bit.

The final step was to create a solid color adjustment layer, using white as the color – then setting my color to black, I selected the dry media brush and brushed over the mask until the portions of the image I wanted were visible. I was quite happy with the results.

Carol I really like what you’ve achieved here… it’s almost become a painterly image. Love the softness of colour. Very nice! πŸ˜€
