Share Your World – 2015 Week 22

Cee has changed the format a bit for this challenge. Have no idea what I’ll do with it, but I’m willing to give it a try, so here goes!

Complete this sentence: Never In My Life Have I ever won anything in a contest of any kind. For awhile I bought lottery tickets, but decided that was an exercise in futility. I used to enter Publisher’s Clearing House, but clearly I’m not meant to be a millionaire. Then there’s the Travel Channel offering wonderful vacations to all sorts of places. Yep. Gave that up too.

Complete this sentence: My neighbour wants me to help her paint her living room. She wants stripes. Does she not realize straight lines and I simply do not get along? And all that taping? Personally I think we should go for something freeform – maybe abstract art on her walls. You know, a roller swipe here, a roller swipe there, a brush stroke here, a brush stroke there. She could simply buy sample size cans of different color paints and we could just go for it.

Complete this sentence: When I was little I wanted to be a princess, to be an acrobat, to be an actress, a writer, an artist. A cowboy like the Lone Ranger or Hopalong Cassidy. Gene Autry and Roy Rogers were good too – maybe I could be Dale Evans. Uh huh. This one, who has ridden a horse only once or twice and not gracefully at all. When I was little, I wanted to be many things.

Complete this sentence: Will you come here to help me rearrange my craft/office room? I think maybe I want the desk over there, and the craft table over here. . . then maybe we could move these bookcases and get rid of that TV and armoir it’s in because I never ever use it. Or maybe keep the armoir and get rid of the TV. . . actually we could try several different layouts. You have a strong back, don’t you?

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? This morning I’m having a little trouble with gratitude, although I am appreciating the clear blue skies and sunshine, as well as the twitters of the birds. But I’m sad, because my old Bailey girl is having tummy problems, hip problems, old age dog problems and I think we need to go to the vet. It makes me sad to watch her. So what I’m looking forward to is her getting better.

Today I’d like to share some pictures of New Mexico skies: I hope you enjoy!

Carol, I think your answers were fun and informative. I would love to help your organize your craft/office space. I am really good at that kind of stuff. I hope Bailey will be fine. My pugs are getting older and one of them Shadow has all sorts of problems, but she is still the sweetest happiest girl you will ever see.

  3. I enjoyed reading your answers especially the one about painting the living room. I’m no good with lines either but abstract, thanks but no thanks. I hope Bailey will be OK, it’s sad to see dogs get old.

Ahhhh, I really hope Bailey begins to feel better soon. I hate it when pets get sick or age begins to catch up with them. Love the cloud shots, especially the second to the last one.

I love the way you answer these things with your own special brand of humour! But I am so sad to read of Bailey’s problems. I really hope the vet can help her! Don’t forget to let me know – sending scritches and gentle hugs her way.

    • Carol says:

Jay, Bailey’s stomach problems cleared up, so we believe it was the Glucosamine I was giving her. She had been on Novox for her hips, but that really did a number on her stomach after awhile, so I fear anything that would help the joints would set her stomach afire. Getting old is not for the weak!

Loving dogs is not for the weak. I’m glad her tummy is better, and hope you can alleviate her joint pain. As you probably read, our old male cat is fighting UT issues, as well as some weight loss.
However, I’m happy to have a strong back. Will be right over šŸ˜‰

It appears she can’t take Glucosamine either, so I’ll have to see if I can find something natural that might help and not hurt. In the meantime, she’s holding her own, Heather. Can your cat’s UTI be cured, or is it an old age thing? Hope it gets better!

He’s been getting them for 8 years. Our vet here turned us on to a specially formulated food that has kept him mostly healthy for the past three years, but we’ve been dealing with issues since April. We’ve switched foods yet again, and now he’s also on some antidepressants for a while to help him adjust back to the litterbox since it’s been so traumatic for him. We’re hoping we can get it under control, because if not the options are not great.

Not fun at all! We had a cat that was mostly outside that had diabetes in about his 10th year. I couldn’t keep him confined enough to keep him on the schedule he needed for feeding and meds. It was sad.
