Share Your World – 2015 Week 17

My mother taught me that sharing is good, so when Cee prompts us to share, I obey. Most of the time.

1. What is your most favorite smell/scent? Lilacs. Peonies. Newly-mown grass. The air when it’s raining. Baby powder. You didn’t expect me to pick just one, did you?

2. Do you prefer long hair or short hair for yourself? Short hair. I’ve tried for long during my lifetime, but it just doesn’t work for me. I envy those with beautiful shiny long hair sometimes, but reality is what it is.

3. Do you plan out things usually or do you do them more spontaneous (for example if you are visiting a big city you don’t know?) I usually plan things out ahead of time, but when I get there more often or not I go with spontaneous. My plans usually require a lot more time than is available, or I’m just not in the mood because something else captures my attention.

4. What is your favorite outdoor activity? Sitting on my deck with a glass of wine or a beer? Does that count? Walking the dogs. Taking pictures. Lying in my hammock reading a book or napping. I’m all for heavy-duty activity, can you tell?

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? I’m grateful for a couple of chilly, windy days that allowed me to rationalize that inside was the place to be, so I managed to clean about half the carpet in the house. And I’m grateful for the warmer, sunny days that allowed me to get a little more yard work done. I should be caught up by fall. I’m looking forward to The Artistic One arriving on Saturday and the subsequent neighborhood girls’ week on the coast.

Today, because a post is not a post without some pictures, a few more people unaware, all of these from when we were in Beijing.

  5. What great photos and I never once thought of the smell of lilacs. I cannot wait until ours bloom but we are still about 8 weeks out I imagine.

I have long thought we were kindred spirits! I’m sitting here nodding my head at all your answers! And my window is open so I don’t miss the instant my lilacs bloom!

  7. I love the candid shots. I have a few of my own. I never know what to do with them, but I guess as the boundaries between privacy and open photography blur, maybe I can share them at some point. (I got to view models in Suzhou posing for a bridal magazine- some cool photos, but again, where does privacy kick in?)

I'd love to hear from you!
