Until We Meet Again

When we went to the coast in mid-July, we took with us some of Husband’s ashes. He loved when we went to the coast and we had many good times there, so it seemed appropriate to let him enjoy it one more time. One evening Kat, Shasta and I walked out into the ocean while Gep and the Artistic One manned the cameras,

we released him to the ocean, to the skies, to the air, with the wish that he would fly to his heart’s content – have I told you he was a private pilot for many years? – and that he enjoy his freedom.

There was an overwhelming sense of peace, of joy, of fulfilling a need

and so we headed back to shore

where we paused

and paused again, to enjoy this feeling, this sense of peace

before we joined together and headed back to our beach house for a glass of wine.
