Share Your World – 2014 Week 2

Wait! What happened to 2013? Oh yeah, I took a leave of absence. Well, I’ve decided I want to join the fun again and have made peace with my habit of spending my morning in the morning room, iPad on lap with keyboard handy, so once again it is time to play with Cee in sharing my world.

1. If you had to move to a country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why?
To answer this question, I need to do a lot more research. I have not visited enough countries to make an educated choice, you know. From my limited experience, I could probably live in British Columbia, Canada. I think Poland would not be my choice, England is maybe a bit too rainy, Mexico too unsettled. Korea? Maybe. China? I think not. That settles it! First I must do more exploring, experiencing first-hand, then I’ll come back with a decision. Give me a few years, okay?

2. Music or silence while working? I tend to go with silence, partly because I don’t often think to turn music on. I have hundreds of songs on my phone and I have a bluetooth speaker for that phone, which sometimes I use. If I’m doing something like blogging or on the computer I tend to block external sounds so I wouldn’t hear the music anyway. If I’m rearranging things, cleaning, organizing, filing – that kind of thing – music is good.

3. What is your favorite color? That’s another of those “depends on the moment, week or month”. Blues tend to be a favorite, but purple is also high on the list. And autumn colors – those have been the ones I’ve been gravitating towards for the past couple of years, but I seem to be heading back into blues and purples. I guess I should go study the meaning of that. One day soon.

4. Do you have a bucket list? What are your three items? A bucket list are things you want to do before you die. I have many things I would like to do, most of which seem to involve travel, but I don’t really have a bucket list. The things that matter the most to me, that I really want to do before I die, is spend more time with my kids and my friends. I want to revisit friends and relatives I haven’t seen in several years, which will involve a trip back east and another to New Mexico. I want to travel with my kids and the friends who live near me. My real bucket list? Live what years I have left to the fullest.

Yesterday was a foggy foggy cold day, which resulted in hoar frost. I found some specimens that I loved and had only my phone with me, so I’ll share those phone camera photos today.

Love your pictures. Our cellphone cameras come in handy, don’t they?

  3. Carol – The next time you go to New Mexico, I encourage you to visit the Llama Foundation in San Cristobal. I had a week long hermitage there several years ago that was beyond amazing. Here’s a link: http://lamafoundation.org

Your bucket list is perfect. The only thing I’d add is a trip to Italy. I can’t think of any other country where I’d want to live either…except maybe an island! I absolutely adore those frost captures!! Definitely frame worthy.

Your hoar frost photos are fabulous. You can take a few years to answer the first question. Canada seems to be the favorite choice for country to live in for this question. Thanks for joining along in the fun Carol!

I could happily live out my days in Italy. But then again I haven’t been everywhere to know for sure. Love the frost photo!

I enjoyed reading your answers to this week’s questions. I had no idea about a country, so I did some research and found a list of the 10 happiest countries. I really like your answer to the bucket list. I don’t have one either, so I wrote a wish list. Your answer was much more thoughtful.

I haven’t been abroad, but know that learning a new language is tough. And honestly, I like learning new things, but would not want to jump into a foreign language. So, I’d probably aim for BC, too. But I would happily go with you to educate myself on other countries to make sure 🙂
I also tend to favor silence while working because I forget or am in a music-less routine. I can say that I prefer instrumentals while working.
I keep wishing for a nice hoar frost. Your photos are terrific, and showcase that the best camera is the one you have with you. Was the frost delicate or as pokey as the photos indicate?

  9. I usually go for silence too when working and also have the ability to shut out sound. I’d live anywhere north of the Mediterranean: Greece, Spain, Portugal, France….ah, if only I was good with languages!!

I love your photos of hoar frost, Carol. I don’t remember ever seeing that before. Maybe I just didn’t notice if I did. 🙂

I put together what pictures I had from my parents in their youth up until my young adult years and had them printed in a book, then did the same thing with the pictures of my kids from birth to the current time (that was probably three years ago) and had them printed in a book. No worries about the pictures degrading since I now have all the photos scanned into my computer as well as the books.

Lovely frost pictures. I tend to enjoy silence rather than music, as well. Even if the music is beautiful it can somehow seem disruptive. The best time for music is dancing–just my opinion anyway!
