I have been putting off posting this week because I have no pictures to include. Getting out to take some isn’t working these days, and it seems getting to the computer to pull some out of archives isn’t working much better. Cee takes the time to put this challenge together, which I respect and appreciate, so rather than dawdle any longer I shall answer questions and not add photos this week and hope that soon I manage to capture one of those days that seem to take off and leave me behind.
1. You are given $5,000 and the chance to exchange it for one of two envelopes. One envelope contains $50,000 and one contains $500. Do you make the trade? Why or why not? I keep the $5000. Because I am certain I would exchange it for the one containing $500 and because a bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush. Then I would struggle to decide how to use the $5,000 because it would not be enough to cover many of the things I would like to do and probably chastise myself for not trying for the $50,000. Good thing this probably will never be reality, huh?
2. Do you believe in the afterlife? Reincarnation? No. Yes. I think I do. I know I used to, but it’s not something that I’ve given much thought to in more recent years, other than to make jokes about coming back as one of my pets. I believe many things are possible. I believe that we have not even scratched the surface of knowing what those things are.
3. If someone made a movie of your life would it be a drama, a comedy, a romantic-comedy, action film, or science fiction? It would depend on the day. Amazing how much would depend on the day, or the moment, isn’t it? I think it would have a bit of drama, some comedy, a touch of romantic-comedy in my younger years, a wee bit of action and a pinch of science fiction. It would have to be a bit of all of these – nothing is ever all black or all white, is it?
4. If you had to spend one weekend alone in a single public building or institution, which building would you choose? I’ve tossed this one around some. I thought about public transportation terminals (?) and museums of one kind or another, but those were not terribly satisfying responses. I did spend a night almost alone in Union Station in Chicago once several years ago. Talk about eerie! Suddenly, it hit me – a library! A big library with wi-fi. Yes! And a coffee machine. And some food. Wine. I have priorities you know.
So that’s it guys. Take me as I am, there are no photos this week.
Wanderings of an Elusive Mind 
If there is an afterlife, I wany to come backas a sea turtle. I snorkeled with them in Hawaii this summer and think they are amazing. Maybe I’ll post some pics at some point.

Yep, it is a certainty you would pick the $500. That is how my luck is too. And a library? Fascinating idea, can the library have nice views of mountains and beaches? Maybe a pretty terrace. We can dream, right?

Library – perfect! Can I bring a warm drink and a blanket? This time of year is perfect for a weekend with books.
I’d have to switch the envelopes. Going to do it without too much thought, because it’s free money. I refuse to kick myself later 😉

A library is the perfect public building in which to spend a weekend alone! I would love that too, especially if there were balconies with the views you described, a big comfy sofa to stretch out on, and wine, coffee and some healthy (or even unhealthy!) snacks.
I seem to remember answering all these questions when I was doing Cee’s Share Your World. I can’t remember how I answered them, so am going to see if I can find them on my Oman blog…. 🙂

Hahaha! The FIRST thing I thought of when I read the public building question was a library! It would be bliss, especially with wi-fi and wine!!
It’s funny, but the older I get the more my views on the spiritual change and consolidate. I used to believe in reincarnation (that’s after I got over the feeling that it was all too scary to think about) and then I didn’t, preferring the mainstream Christian viewpoint. Then I become a Quaker and all things were again possible and gradually I came back around to the thinking that yes, why would reincarnation not be possible, too? If the soul is entirely separate from the body (which I’ve always believed, even though one tends to shape the other a bit) then why could it not survive death and be reallocated?

No photos?!?!?! Horrors! 🙂 But I’m happy you posted anyway because I always enjoy reading your words. I hadn’t even finished the first sentence on #4 when Library immediately came to mind too! It’s obvious which camp I’m in when it comes to the afterlife. And there are days when I think it can’t come too soon. Hope you can get out and about soon to refresh your mind, body and spirit.

I am sorry that you were unable to post pictures this week Carol. I love your photography. I alos love your honesty to question number 2. The apostle Paul did say “Eye has not seen and hear has not heard the wonderful things God has prepared for those that love Him.” You are right we are not even close to scratching the surface!

Carol I will always take you as you are. Photos or not. I wish I had the skill with words like you do. I was a tech writer for far too many years and I have no creativity when it comes to words or the gift to gab. Part of it is just my personality. Thanks so much for sharing!

Part of me believes in an afterlife, too. The other part doesn’t. I used to believe 78.6%. Now it doesn’t seem to matter as much. I believe something continues. Whether we’ll be cognizant of it in relation to our memories and personality, who knows? That will be the next adventure…

I always enjoy your answers to Cee’s questions. A library sounds like the perfect place to spend the weekend alone (especially if there’s food and wine to go with the wi-fi and books!).
