I have had a wordless week – trying to catch up with some of the pre-winter yard work – I have managed to cross off all items on my list, but I have also realized my list was woefully short and there is much more to do. Interspersed with the productive days have been tired, lazy days. But now it is time for another week of sharing, so I’ll dredge up some energy, some words and a couple of pictures.
1. Have you ever bungee jumped? If you haven’t, would you want to? No and no. There are a lot of things I would like to do, but I don’t do edges and I don’t do sudden jolts to my body. I think that eliminates bungee jumping.
2. For your computer Mac or Windows based computer? Desktop, laptop, Pad or other? All of the above? For years I have used a Windows based desktop, but when our newest, five-year-old desktop with Windows 7 started giving me problems, I went out and bought a Lenovo laptop. The laptop is nice, but I so hate Windows 8 that I’m wishing I’d gotten a Mac laptop. Except finding someone to work on it in this area is an issue. And then there’s the budget, which is not an Apple budget. I use my iPad which was given me by the kids for Christmas a couple of years ago most often, and go to the laptop only for things I can’t do on the iPad – like upload photos.
3. If you were instantly able to play one musical instrument perfectly that you never have played before, what would it be? A guitar. I would sit by a campfire, preferably on a beach, and play the guitar. Beautifully, effortlessly. My friends and passers by would be enthralled and we would have a grand sing-along.
4. Describe yourself in at least four uplifting words. This is hard. It is hard for me to vocalize uplifting words about myself. Weaknesses, that I can do in a minute. Good things seem like bragging, and I don’t want to give myself more credit than I am really due. But I’ll try. Okay, I’ll try! I am dependable, reliable. I am calm, most of the time, but when pushed too far, the calmness is replaced by loudness and fury. I am trustworthy, I try to see the good sides of all people, I will never betray a friend’s confidence. I am loyal, but not to be treated as a fool. I am intelligent, although I think my brain may have developed some leaks. I have more talent than some, not as much as others.
Now for those pictures – three that were taken this morning before the frost was off the pumpkin. Figuratively speaking.
I wouldn’t do bungee jumping for the same reasons. Sometimes stepping off a curb is too much of a jolt for this body!
I love the photos – from the fall colors behind the bird (spotted towhee?) to the frost on the plants, they are all lovely.

Beautiful photos! We haven’t had frost here yet. Your four words sound like the way I would describe myself. Glad you still have time to take photos and ponder ideas. All the best! Laura

Oh Carol, I feel your pain when having to describe myself. That was just painful. But you sound like a very likeable person… that would be good to add to your attributes.

I love your vision of guitar,, one of my visions is to sit on a porch in a rocking chair, looking out across the open moor and play a few songs to the listening nature… 😉 I have a blog called ‘Sitting on the Porch’ shows how it affects me…

Just checking in with you…I would play the cello if I could play anything perfectly. Makes me smile to think of it. Soulful, you know? You should add kind to your list.

#1…not only No, but HELL NO! Period. I’m a Mac-centric person and only work on PCs when forced to do so. And how can anyone top that list of self-descriptive words? I really like that person! xoxo

I have almost the same computer story. Used a Windows laptop for years (and desktops before that), but this last time I got a Lenovo with Windows 8 and found it unusable. My mom ended up with it because she uses a mouse and does not experience all the unpredictability of the touchpad. I now have a Mac. Thank goodness for business expenses!
My husband plays guitar beautifully, so I find that I’m again with Dawn. I would love to play the cello. They’re a bit unwieldy, so I might not go to the beach with it 😉
I think you ought to add “determined” and “strong” to your list. Perhaps Cee should get you to have your readers come up with words to describe you. Then it wouldn’t feel nearly as much like bragging!
