Some Days

Have you noticed how some days go placidly along, in a row, all the same? Or very close to the same.

Some days the sun is there – you know it’s there, but it’s hiding behind a thick haze. The haze makes it difficult to see the brightness, the full beauty of the yellow sun in the blue sky.

Some days the sun shines brightly, occasionally skittering behind a big fluffy cloud. Even behind the cloud, it shines brightly, it highlights the silver linings to that cloud. It brings with it smiles for the hope, for the bright future those silver linings promise. On those days, we know we have all we need. We have enough.

Some days are a turmoil of conflicting colors, conflicting emotions, conflicting desires. Some days leave you searching for peace, for quiet, for harmony.

Some days blend all the colors of life together, harmoniously, happily. Some days the blending brings joy, adventure, laughter. On those days, we know we have all we need. We have enough.

Some days I should like to be a small flying creature, able to flit about, land where I wish, watch the world from my silent hiding place.

Some days I would like to be my spoiled puppy, comfortable in her world, enjoying the luxuries, the attentions her people afford her.

Some days I am my spoiled puppy, luxuriating in my world. Knowing I have enough.
