Share Your World – 2013 Week 8

Cee’s questions this week are the kind that I’m not sure I can answer. But I can spread words out in an attempt to answer, so I’m going to give it a go!

1. What is your favorite day of the week? Already I have no answer! Since I’m now retired, one day is much like the other, and which my favorite might be would depend on my mood I think. On those days where quiet seems to be what I want, my favorite day would be a day I can spend at home, just indulging myself with whatever it is I feel like doing. Other times, it would be the day I spend going to movies and lunch with friends. Or just spending time with those I love. Or walking with the big girls – the littlest girl, Lily, often following behind when we stay in our neighborhood.

2. Have you ever had a reoccurring dream? What was it? I don’t recall ever having any reoccurring dreams. I don’t often remember dreams, or at least anymore than just a bit here or there. Last night I dreamed I saw some birds in the yard – a Chickadee, a Finch, others I don’t recall. That’s probably because since we’ve been home from the hospital we have had no birds, not one, in the yard and I wonder where they have gone. I’ve put food out, but no takers. I miss them.

3. Have you ever been drunk? Yes, but not for quite a long time. The most recent was a few years ago when my kids and grandkids were here visiting – we sat too long on the deck drinking wine, and I became quite happy, flying over the chimneys – we laughed a lot that night. And still we laugh about that night.

4. Out of your five senses (touch, taste, sight, smell, hearing) which is your favorite? Oh my. Touch – how would I know if things pass the soft test without my sense of touch? Taste is not so important, although I would miss the taste of chocolate especially. Sight? Most of my interests involve sight – I think perhaps sight would be the most important. Smell? I love the smell of peonies and lilacs, fresh-cut grass, sheets dried on the clothesline – but I think smell would matter less than touch and sight. Hearing is often how I know what’s going on around me, and I think losing the sense of hearing, like the sense of sight, would be like living in a dark cave. I think I cannot pick one sense, but must pick two – sight and hearing.

I think you did a great job answering! It’s difficult to pin down which sense is a favorite.

Well no wonder you felt like spreading words around for answers – those are impossible questions šŸ˜‰
I’m sorry your birdies are missing. It’s crazy windy and snowy in my neck of the woods, so we don’t have birds either, but that’s just good sense on their part. Hope your feathered friends return soon.

Great answers! I agree that it’s hard to pick a sense.

  6. Your world today, in the pic, looks great. Sitting together and gazing out the window. I agree on the senses thing. Would find it very difficult to choose between sight and hearing, although I think it would be lonelier to lose ones hearing.

Gosh – those are very difficult questions. I dread going blind so I think that would have to be my answer on the sense question, though if I think about the other senses I don’t want to lose any of them!!! I think humans are very visually oriented beings though.

Touch…that is such an interesting answer. I wouldn’t have thought about that, but it is so true. Carol, I am going to secretly admit being drunk last summer (or the summer before?) when my daughter brought her boyfriend home. Gosh, I think it was last summer. I was keeping up with him…and the next thing happened was that I was lying flat in bed with the room swirling and he was happy & standing on his own two feet. Everyone is still laughing about that! The poor boyfriend felt terrible, but it was truly My Fault.

  9. Great answers, Carol. I don’t know how I’d choose which is my favorite sense. Lately touch has been greatly absent in my life, and I haven’t missed it that much. I think sight would be the most important, with touch second. So the truth comes out about about the “drunk” episode. šŸ™‚ Don’t we all have them?? At least you weren’t lying on the bed with the room spinning, as I’ve done numerous times.

I’m not sure I could pick a favorite from the five senses! You have me wondering now. I may have your birds. They are flocking to the feeders after our TWO winter storms.
