Share Your World: Week 52

This week, the 52nd in this series of challenges, Cee posed questions submitted by Caddo Veil.

1. Do you make New Year’s resolutions, or not? If so, what one have you made and kept from the past? Back in the day, I made resolutions. They never lasted beyond a day or so, so I finally resolved to stop making resolutions and I was able to keep that one. Sometimes you just have to find a workaround to be successful at something.

2. Do you prefer Nuts or no Nuts? Nuts always. They make life more interesting – presuming, of course, that their nuttiness is not mean, rabid or hostile. Oh! I’m sorry! You were referring to edibles, weren’t you. The answer remains the same – nuts always.

3. Do you like winter, or not, and why? Winter and I have a bit of a love/hate relationship. By the time fall arrives, I’m usually ready to have a legitimate reason to spend more time in the house, although I hate giving up my afternoons on the deck. The first couple of days that it snows, it feels so good to stay inside and see the snow through the windows. But I soon grow tired of it inhibiting my walking and driving, and then I get tired of having to bundle up to go outside, and then I get antsy to get outside. I guess the answer here is I like some parts of winter – some parts only briefly – and now it’s time for spring to arrive.

4. Do you prefer to receive gifts or give them? I like both. I do have a stronger like for giving gifts if it’s something the giftee will really appreciate or enjoy. I’d like to be able to give gifts just because more often. I worry too often about the gift not being what the giftee wants. Sometimes I just let worry rule. Sometimes I have to manufacture something to worry about. If I kept resolutions I’d resolve to change that.

I am coming to you via Facebook while sitting in a restaurant w computer, very little time to read or chat. But just wanted to honor your love/hate relationship with winter. Yes. I get it. It’s a bit of both. But isn’t everything? Well, mostly everything, at times?

  2. “…so I finally resolved to stop making resolutions and I was able to keep that one.”

    That made me laugh!

  3. You have the perfect answer regarding resolutions, Carol. Being such a Type A person myself, I’m not able to give them up, even considering the futility of them. Love your answer about nuts, edible and otherwise! And winter, yes, I understand how it can get tiresome. But actually think of how tiresome it is to have the same season, hot, hot and hotter, 365 days a year. I can’t wait to return to four distinct seasons!! 🙂

  4. Karma says:

Nice way to describe your relationship with winter. I feel that way at times. I’m always ready for spring to arrive. I liked your answer to the “nuts” question too! The picture of Lily waiting for Santa is adorable.

  5. Georgia says:

Lovely winter photos. I like your resolutions about resolutions too.

  6. Cee Neuner says:

OK that snow is way to much for my liking. I do like taking photos of snow, because it can be pretty. I had plenty when I lived in Colorado. Here in the Willamette Valley not so many opportunities. I love your answer to the nuts! Happy New Year Carol, may we have an early spring!!

  7. Heather says:

Your answers are always so much fun! I hope Cee does this next year – and you play along again – so that I can continue to enjoy 🙂
And also: Ooooh! Quail! I haven’t seen them in the wild ever. Or in a back yard. Only on a farm. They are pretty cute.

  8. Angelia Sims says:

I love your winter photos. People say they get sick of winter and I suppose I would too. But for now, I will live vicariously through your camera. Lovely!

  9. Lisa says:

Love your wintery pic collage today. It’s snowing here today and so pretty to watch…from the window. I gave up making new year’s resolutions a long time ago. Just try and do the best I can from day to day now.

I'd love to hear from you!
