Share Your World: Week 47

You may think you’re seeing this post on a Monday, because that’s the day Cee posts the questions that we are to answer to share a bit more about ourselves. But I have already posted today, and I will be busy tomorrow, so this really is a post for Tuesday. Just use your imagination – just as each of us who attempts to answer these questions must do.

1. Would you accept $10,000 to shave your head and continue your normal activities without a hat or wig while not explaining the reason for your haircut? Ha! Easy, this one is. Already been there, done that. The answer, then, is yes, I would. After all, I paid to lose all my hair five years ago and it has never grown back like real hair – it’s now thin and fine, rather like baby hair. Admittedly, initially I did wear wigs and hats, but both irritate me, and are much too warm in warm weather, so I gave that up. I do wear a hat when it is cold now, because fine thin hair does not to a lot for holding the head heat in.

2. Which of the following restrictions could you best tolerate: leaving your country permanently, or never leaving the state or area in which you live now? My first reaction was to say leaving my country permanently, because there are other countries I would very much like to visit. Then reality set in, and like Cee said, Oregon has everything to offer – and it’s very unlikely the budget will allow much overseas travel anyway. So I’d go with staying in this state.

3. If you had to spend one weekend alone in a single store but could remove nothing, which store would you pick? So, do they have furniture stores with wireless internet? If yes, and if I could pack snacks and meals, then I’d agree with Cee – again – and take a furniture store. At first I thought a store like Fred Meyer’s because they sell furniture, groceries and everything else – then I was reminded that she said I could remove nothing, and I figured eating groceries would be removing something, as would borrowing yarn and needles to occupy my hands. I’m not really a shopper, so spending a whole weekend in any kind of store really sounds like torture to me.

4. If you could have a servant come to your house every day for one hour, what would you have them do? Three days they could cook – four days they could clean. When they cooked, it would be quantities of food that would provide leftovers for the next day. I’d do some cleaning, but they could do the stuff like cleaning refrigerator, oven, cupboards, etc. And dusting. I hate dusting!

I have no pictures for this one today, just because.

There’s an incredibly stupid movie on our TV just now – it’s an Amazon Prime instant video movie, which makes it more tolerable because it’s costing nothing for husband to watch it. I’ll not give you the title – suffice it to say it’s one of the action/adventure movies with the greatest of actors – you know, Sylvester Stallone, Jason Stratham and the illustrious former governor of California. I’m so happy to have had this blog post to focus on.

  1. I’m with you on the three days of cooking and four days of cleaning – sounds like an excellent plan.

  2. Interesting answers, Carol, to more interesting questions by Cee. The servant idea sounds great and your answer to sitting locked in the store all weekend is perfect. What good would it be to sit in a store all weekend, unless they had wireless, especially since you can’t remove anything! Yikes!

Either I am really vain or I refuse to sell my soul, because parting with my mane for money – even that considerable sum – would bring on some serious emotional turmoil. Since I moved to this area simply because I love it, I think I’d just stay here. Also, it would be easier for my loved ones to visit here rather than another country. I think my favorite answer was to a question that wasn’t asked though…I’m glad you were able to enjoy not watching the movie 😉

Had I not gone through the bald routine with chemo, my answer would have been a resounding ” what say you?!”. I will say this, it’s much easier to take care of now.

  5. Interesting questions and answers.

I would go with a department store because there is infinite variety.

I love your compromise on the servant. 1/2 cooking and 1/2 cleaning. You are too smart for your own good 🙂 I don’t like shopping either and I agree the store needs to be wireless. Oregon is the best. Now a special question for you, if money wasn’t a problem where would you live?

Ahha, Cee! Another challenge! If money wasn’t a problem, I’d live where I am, but I’d travel and I’d have a place on the Oregon coast too. Not exactly sure which part of the coast – it would require some more exploring. Probably central coast, because then going either direction would be easy.

I guessed correctly on all your answers! I didn’t specify furniture store, but I said someplace with comfy places to lounge (Don’t know why my mind didn’t take the tiny baby step to furniture store). And I guessed dusting, but thought you’d also have them doing some weeding for you out in the garden and wrestling with pine cones and needles.

  8. What is not to love about our Oregon? We are a state divided by mountains. The Cascade Mountains stretch across the entire north/south length of Oregon, producing areas with two entirely different climates. In a matter of a few hours you can have your pick. West of the Cascades, a mild, moist marine climate prevails. East of the Cascades, Oregon’s high desert country can be scorching hot or bitterly cold, and usually always sunny.. In between the Cascades and the coast, the Coast Range defines the lush growing land of the Willamette Valley from the marine coast area .Our beautiful 360 miles of our ocean border~ All In a days time..

That second question is the hardest of all!!! I don’t know what I would say. Your answer sounds perfect, but what if your beloved family is scattered across the country? Gosh, a really challenging one. (Are your kids all in your area?)

Kathy, my daughter is in Southern California – where I no longer venture because it’s way too crowded for me and this year my son is in Muscat, Oman. They have to come to me, although I’d go to Oman for a visit if I had my magic carpet.
