Sharing My World – Week 27

It is Sunday – a sunny Sunday in June – and time to share more of our worlds, because Cee has posted the questions for this week.

1. If 100 people your age were chosen at random, how many do you think you’d find leading a more satisfying and joyful life than yours? I think, or hope, that most of them would be enjoying an equally satisfying life. I suspect there would be those whose lives are very good, but who do not see the good and spend their time wanting more. Then again, I think most of us would like a bit more – perhaps more travel, more more good health, more help with tedious chores. . . .

2. Which would you rather have, 100 million dollars or true love? At this time of my life I have had the love and there are things I’d like to do that require more funding than my income permits, so I would take the 100 million dollars. I would like to be able to travel, I would like to be more financially comfortable for my remaining lifetime, I would like to support some worthy help groups, I would like to have someone come in and do the heavy work. Another love would not do that but the dollars would.

3. If you had to cancel one month of the year forevermore, so that period of time no longer existed, which month would go? And Why? Without a doubt, February! Because February is forever long (yes, I know it has fewer days than the other months, but it is still forever long), winter has gone on for too long already by February and spring needs to get here a little bit sooner. February has always been my “cabin fever” month.

4. You’re given one million dollars, what do you spend it on? A new car, a little cottage on the coast, a few trips to places near and far, contributions to our local Humane Society and the home for abused women and their children. New flooring for my house, an air purifier that would eliminate the need for dusting furniture. . . what? Oh, you think I’m moving into the Jetson’s way of thinking? Okay, then, someone to come in and clean the house on a regular basis.

No pictures this day – I have not been at the desktop computer where pictures are stored and processed for a few days and this morning I am going to mow the lawn and then get ready to go to India. Well, go to India vicariously at least. Our neighborhood women are going in to see The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel this afternoon – it has finally reached our theater!

Yay!!!!! You are going to looooovvvee it!

  2. Your responses made me smile. Pragmatism, altruism, and wit.

  3. Heather says:

I would get rid of March. But, I play in the winter, and March is just a not-very-pretty in between time.
I hope India was fun! And also that you figure out that dust thing so I can have one, too 😉

  4. Let us know how the Marigold Hotel is!! Love your answers!! 🙂

  5. I love your response to question #1. I think our lives are as satisfying as we believe they can be. If we had a chance to trade lives with another person, I think most of us would want to keep our own. If we step back and take another look at ourselves, we may see a different, more satisfying picture

  6. We loved the Marigold Hotel movie too – Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, and the rest of the actors did a wonderful job!

  7. Cee Neuner says:

So how was your trip to India? That is one movie I’d like to see too. Thanks once again for participating.

  8. pegbur7 says:

Wonderful answers. And I hope the trip to India was equally wonderful!

  9. Lisa says:

Well, that first question was an interesting one! You navigated it very well. And, leave it to you to essentially eat your cake and have it too with #2! I’m not sure which month I’d delete. There are things about each one I like. Perhaps August, since it’s hotter than hell here at that time of year.

  10. Awesome answers of course. I loved you cottage on the coast. I think that I would have to agree though this is one I had not thought of. But so works for us.
Hope your week is being good to you.

  11. I’m going with $100 million. That could be a new love for every day of the year. lol

I'd love to hear from you!
