My World Filled with Cotton Balls

As we slept, in the dark of the night, someone flew overhead and dropped several loads of cotton balls on my world. When I awoke this morning, this is how it looked:

Very white and fluffy. Beautiful. Although this beauty would have been better appreciated in January. I am hoping this will be the last of this year’s snow pictures. I am hoping to soon begin sharing pictures of blooms and butterflies and pretty birds. In the sunshine. In the warmth.

mostly white with a bright spot of blue

leftover berries

the Ponderosa's seed pods

This is how my world looks today. From inside, which is where one should be when it looks like this.

That last picture is postcard perfect! Even when one doesn’t exactly want snow, it’s hard not to appreciate its beauty. I am not going to hold my breath for it, but we are well above seasonal averages for the next two weeks. It feels downright balmy out there! Hope you get your butterflies and blossoms soon 🙂

  3. Your snow photos bring me back to reality. We usually get a blizzard here around St. Pat’s Day. It doesn’t look like it this year. I was walking my dog in a t-shirt today with record-breaking warmth. I am just about ready to return my rental skis.

Oh, I am so sorry … snow. But, it IS pretty when it’s all pristine and fluffy. Here (southeastern Ontario) we are watching the snow banks disappear before our eyes in some very balmy weather.

I have always lived in the south so I don’t have a frame of reference for hard winters but I absolutely love snow. The pictures are great and make me hope next winter will bring some to us down here.

  11. Dang it! I want some snow. We barely got any this winter. And now its 70 degrees.

I just wanted one good snow. Please send me some of yours.

We got a total of 6 inches all winter (last year was 40). I completely understand your angst, but that shot of the pine is gorgeous! I also love the berry shot.

love the last pic… that was us two weeks ago… really… I have never remembered a March as warm and sunny as this last week… 70’s all week…. the snow storm of two weeks ago vanished under the thawing earth… it’s a blessing to push cabin fever adrift… but I know, we’ve had a blizzard in April already
