This week at Cee’s Life Photography the Share Your World assignment is to share 3 of my favorite photographs and to tell why they’re favorites or to tell about 3 favorite scenes in your life if you’re not a photographer. Looking through some of my pictures this morning, I found many more than 3 that could qualify as favorites, but I didn’t look through all of them, so I probably missed several others. I’ll share here the three I picked this morning (tomorrow’s favorites could be different).
This one, I think, will always be a favorite. I took it after Gep and Kat hauled out his camera and some lighting equipment in preparation for taking family photos. They were waiting until the afternoon light was just right. To me, this is a perfect example of their sense of comradery, companionship, closeness, with a touch of a beer commercial.
I love the way the light and shadow show on these daisies, with a few droplets of water still clinging to them from the watering the night before. I like looking at them from behind, rather than face-on as is more common.
This was taken this past September at the Portland zoo. We were able to go into the aviary with the Lorikeets and to offer small cups of nectar, apparently their favorite food. That got pretty interesting, occasionally resulting in a bit of aggressiveness by the Lorikeets trying to steal the cups, resulting in nectar being spilled on my head. This is a favorite of the photos I took of them because it shows that even Lorikeets have feelings for one another. Do you detect a trend here? I seem to gravitate to photos that show caring.
This is part of my world.
