Not sure how we got to Week 31 of Cee’s Sharing our Worlds already, but here we are, so here we go!
1. Do you plan out things usually or do you do them more spontaneous (for example if you are visiting a big city you don’t know?) When I decide to go somewhere new I usually read everything I can find about that place, make lots and lots of plans for things to do and see, and then when I get there make spontaneous decisions. Plan first, change plans second.
2. If you could live in any OTHER time, when would it be and why? I don’t think there is another time I would prefer to live in. There are times I might like to be a mouse in the corner, but I’m quite happy with this time overall.
3. Do you prefer reading short stories or novels? Novels. I also read several magazines, but for some reason I’m just not a short story fan.
4. As a kid was there any kind of candy that you didn’t like to get? Candy corn. Anything marshmallow. Too too sweet. Chocolate wins every time!
Remember a couple of weeks ago when I took a moment to wail and I said it must be time for a massage and pedicure? Well, Friday the Artistic One and I took a “me” day and did just that. It was pure heaven!

The painting on the wall, a style that is not what I would usually be drawn to but I love this one!

We vote and the Artistic One goes first. As she sits with feet soaked, massaged, creamed and wrapped, I get all of those things done to mine.

Time for polish, we decided to step out of the box a bit.

Closer up (ignore the toe wrinkles), but still the sparkle does not sparkle like it does in real life.
No photos of the massage, but let me tell you we were massaged, creamed, massaged, stretched, folded, creamed, massaged – did it really have to end?

I don’t like candy corn either, but I almost always buy some in the fall because it makes such cute cake/cupcake/seasonal decoration.
I have never had one, but I do have two 1-hour massages that I need to schedule…
Sounds like your pedicure went like pedicures as supposed to go
Never heard of Candy Corn! Re: the pedicure – toes are exactly the place you can “step out the box”. I’ve never been much of the sparkly, glitter type of girl but, for some reason, just love it in nail polish – good for you!
Omg, Mom! I bought the exact same shoes you are wearing.
Oh How Fun! And I’m cracking up at what Kat wrote
Good for pampering yourself!!!!!!! Great answers too!!
Good for you taking a me day… and I’m with you on the candy corn – but marshmallows? My guilty pleasure
I enjoyed your answers, and good for you about the pampering
I know it felt good [I just had it done too]
I loved your answers, especially about the planned/spontaneous trip and the sweets. Your pedicure and massage sound heavenly!!
Aww…see? I feel more relaxed just READING about your ‘me day’ Excellent idea ladies, excellent idea.
Just as Dawn said, it’s very relaxing to read about your day. You have a lovely way of sharing your days and yourself
(my sister and I live in different countries and only see each other once a year, if we’re lucky, but we always laugh at how often we seem to be doing the same things at the same time)
Oh I like that, “plan first, change plans second”. That’s what I do too, make plans, but they are always open to negotiation along the way. Great planning strategy, Carol. Your plans for a “me” day were well worth sticking to though!
And I agree, chocolate wins, every time!
Glad you took some “me” time, Carol. I can feel that ahhhhh of enjoyment. Like you, I plan first and then change plans easily. OK, usually easily.
I plan my trips exactly the same way. Collect all the info and come up with a general idea, then make changes once you see what you really want to do.
I’m glad you enjoyed your spa day!
Great post, Carol!
Technically, those are called “maintenance days.”
And for good reason.
Wow Carol as a baroness who is always barefoot let me say I adore your toes! You have inspired me to get out my polish for the firt time this summer. Not good for a barefoot baroness.
Great SYW answers this week and forgive me for being so tardy in commenting. I travel like you, make some plans, learn all about where I;m going and what’s to offer. Then wing it when I’m there.
What surprizes me this week is the different answers we all have had for number two.
